Role Details

Role Title:
Procurement/ Purchasing Officer

The role of a Procurement/Purchasing Officer includes placement of purchase orders with suppliers.

Track purchasing activity and prioritise delivery and balance purchases to manage stock/inventory levels.

Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine the cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.

Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety.

The daily duties of a Procurement/Purchasing Officer are to regularly monitor stock levels using inventory records and physical checks, where applicable, to ensure maintenance of supply.

Maintain an up-to-date records of materials and consumables and document acquisition requirements in accordance with workplace procedures.

Review quotations, order materials and services in accordance with negotiated and appropriately approved agreements.

Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.

Previous purchasing experience required.

Awareness on hazardous and dangerous goods codes, knowledge in safety data sheets and local safe operating procedures.

High attention to detail.
